...life is short but sweet for certain...

Life IS too short.

Why do we kill ourselves everyday….to pay our bills, to get from point A to B, to run until our knees give out so we can fit in a bikini.

Why do we take jobs that we dislike, that don’t pay us well and frankly bore us to tears?

Why do we stay with someone when we know they aren’t right for us?

Why do we put so much off, because we will “have time to do it later”?

The last few weeks I’ve woken up before the sun, and watch the pinks dance across the sky as a new day begins and I realize that yet another day has passed. I can never get back February 24, 2011. It is gone. I woke up, I lived it, I did what I could during that day, and then I slept, letting the day slip through my closing eyelids.

This life is so precious. So short. Such a miracle, we need to be aware of what we choose to do with it everyday.

I see people RUSHING, run, drive fast, trip over yourselves to get to the place you can relax for an hour, take your mind off things, settle your overworked nerves, only to pick up an hour later rushing out the door, dropping things on the way, driving like mad home, only to do it again. WHY ARE YOU RUSHING?

We should be sleeping when we feel tired, we should be running when we feel we have energy, we should love when we really truly love, we should dance when music moves us, we should laugh when we’re happy, cry when we’re sad, and LIVE.

Here are some great quotes that I love about living life.

Do not take life too seriously.  You will never get out of it alive.  ~Elbert Hubbard

Spend the afternoon.  You can’t take it with you.  ~Annie Dillard

You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted.  ~Ruth E. Renkl

There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.  ~Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes

Scent…Memory.

Taking my great dane for a walk,

a slow pace through the piles of snow that fell

heavy, this morning.

Cold air stings through the scarf around my face.

A familiar smell, confuses my senses.

Motor sounds, and gasoline….as from a boat.

Flash back to sunburns, warm breeze and sandy toes.

Smells of sunscreen, bug spray…dry wood burning.

Laughing, guitars and singing.

The engine stops, the smell dissipates.

Snap. Back to the frigid air, and silence…of winter.

The driveway has been cleared.

That doesn’t stop my smile….a few months from now…

sunscreen smells, and boat fumes…will snap me back to winter,

and frigid air,

walking my great dane,

on a cold winters day.

2011

The New Year has already brought me opportunities I can’t wait to explore! A new job in a new town, and an opportunity to meet new people! This job will also allow me to dabble in my interests like Photography, Event Planning and even things that are more unknown like Marketing.

There are lots of things I want to try, do, accomplish, and see this year….here’s to hoping I can do as many as possible!!

Welcome New Year! I very much look forward to the opportunities you will show me, the new people I will meet, the challenges you will make me face, the new love you will provide, the photography opportunities you will present me, and a great new change….
Wilkommen! Bonjour! Halo! Aloha!

We could have saved the Earth, but we were too damned cheap…

I am Enough. A quick lesson.

Just listened to a lecture by Brene Brown today.

Things I knew, learned, loved and want to share…

  • Courage- The ability to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.
  • Be Imperfect
  • You cannot show true compassion to others without first having compassion for yourself.
  • You must let go of who you think you are, in order to be who you are.
  • Vulnerability is neccessary…
  • Embracing vulnerabilty is beautiful.

~Willingness to do something even though there are no guarantees~

(LOVE, try, do, learn, teach, dance….)

We NUMB vulnerability.

(Pills, Drugs, Alcohol, Hate, Addiction)

  • We find so many ways to blame!
  • Blame= A way to discharge pain and discomfort.
  • We pretend that what WE do has NO IMPACT on others.

Let yourself be SEEN.

Love with your whole heart, even though there are no guarantees.

Practice gratitude and joy.

Be Enough.

I am Enough.

The 2 New York Pictures I just found going back through my pictures. I loved them so I wanted to share!

The Cloud picture is from the airplane at sunset, I loved how the sky blended with the clouds and the colors were fantastic!

Classic Yellow was a cover band playing in a bar in Boston, MA. They are very talented and covered songs like Sublime, MGMT, Marley and others that most don’t play!

Order my Photography for the holidays!!

If you’re interested in any of my photography I can do Enlargements, 5 or 1 Picture Calendar Posters and I can even do Canvas.

Chicago Bound!

Off to Chicago for the weekend! My brother came to town by train, and I will be driving him and his winter clothing back!

My friend Josh Erwin is off to the Navy the monday after Thanksgiving, so I thought a trip with me to The Windy City would be a great way to annoy the shit out of eachother so much we’d be ok with not seeing eachother for a long amount of time…I’ll still be sad to say good bye though… :(

Pictures and Trip fun will be posted later!

Just because we may not have known eachother, doesn’t make a young life lost any less important….

There are massive waves wherever your adventure has taken you…

Be at Peace Andy Irons.

Love this band….The Weepies.

Fall Colors.

Fall.

For those that are outside the Midwest…I hope that you get the chance to experience the beautiful breakdown of Fall. Nature has a way of prepping its self for the next season….Winter gives way to Spring by melting all of it’s snow and ice, hydrating the ground and life within it to make way for blooming flowers and trees, spring rains and gives life back to the frozen ground making way for the warm summer months that may be left without moisture, and then the summer makes way for fall, cool breezes move in blowing leaves off of trees and bushes so they wont break when the heavy snow of winter comes back around again….The cycle of seasons is refreshing, rejuvenating and sometimes frustrating when Winter decides to stick around too long….

….but the beauty of fall, and the feeling of crisp leaves crunching beneath your feet, and the softness of mittens and scarves and a pink nose from a cool breeze is an opportunity you cannot miss….
